General Policies:
- All students intending to sit for an AP® exam in May 2025 must submit pre-payment to have an exam ordered as well as activate the exam on MyAp.
- The cost of each exam will be $126 through October 10, with a LATE registration penalty period from October 11-15. LATE payment will incur a penalty fee of $45 per exam.
- Without submission of payment AND exam activation on myap.collegeboard.org, an exam order is not complete and cannot be processed.
- Payments can be submitted until October 10 either online with a debit/credit card or by mailing in a check or money order (instructions are provided.) A 3.1% credit card processing fee is applied to online payments.
- Late payment is accepted only online.
- Exams cannot be ordered unless BOTH ordering steps are completed by the deadline (activation of the exam and payment submission.)
- Fee reductions are available but must be applied for before October 10, 2024 and must be done before registration. Approval may take several days so apply early. To apply for a fee reduction, please email us at [email protected]. Verification of eligibility will be required. Late payment fees will apply after October 10.
- Special Accommodations information can be obtained from the Director of Special Education, Dr. Burton. Applications must be submitted directly to Dr. Burton by January 24, 2025. Contact email address is: [email protected]. The application requires 6 to 7 weeks of processing by College Board, so there are NO EXCEPTIONS for late applications.
- A calendar of exams is available on this site under Testing Calendar. Check in for exams will begin approximately 30 minutes before the exam start time Exam administration for morning exams begins at EXACTLY 8:00am, and for afternoon exams begins at EXACTLY 12:30pm. Students who report after exam administration begins will not be admitted. No exceptions. Exams will take on average 4 hours (calculated from check in time). Please notify your coaches of AP® Test dates and times and plan accordingly. Students will not be allowed to leave the test early.
- Students who have self-studied or independently prepared for an AP® Exam will need to apply for permission to test. Approval is not automatic or guaranteed and is based on space availability. Please email [email protected] for assistance in finding a space to take a self-studied exam.
- Exams administration locations will vary depending on space availability and needs. Exam location information will be released by CCHS closer to the exam administration.
- World Language and Music Theory exams: Due to space limitations connected to recording equipment, these exams will also entail a schedule of recordings and therefor may run longer than other exams. Students are advised to bring with them a snack and bottled water (in a plastic carrying bag.)
- Students must bring their picture ID cards (School or Driver's license), school-issued iPads (charge cords!), pencils, pens, erasers, and calculators (if applicable – see AP® Security Rules for approved types) with fresh batteries to the AP test room. Without picture ID a student may not be admitted. CELL PHONES, BACKPACKS, PURSES OR BAGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN TESTING CENTERS. We recommend those are left at home or in your vehicle.
- By submitting payment for an Exam, students agree to adhere to the Test Site Regulations for the duration of the exam period. Consequences include removal from exam and cancellation of scores. See Test Site Security Regulations for specific details.
- Cancellation of AP® Exams: Students may cancel their AP® exam registration and receive a refund of $126 if their cancellation request is submitted in writing and dated before midnight, October 15, 2024. (Debit and credit card processing fees are non-refundable.) After October 15 and before midnight on March 31, 2025 cancellation will result in a partial refund: a $50 non-refundable portion will be retained to cover administrative fees and College Board cancellation penalty fees. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after March 31, 2025. No shows on exam day are not eligible for a refund. To cancel an exam, please email [email protected] and include the student name, the CCHS school name, and the title of the exam you wish to cancel.
- Please note the following registration restrictions set by College Board:
- A student may not register for BOTH the AP® Calculus AB and BC exams in the same calendar year.
- Only students who have complete the AP® Computer Science Principles in-course assessments can take the actual Computer Science Principles AP® Exam in May.
- College Board is extremely strict regarding qualifying for rescheduling an AP® exam to the Late Testing (make-up window.) In addition, the reason for requesting late testing must also meet the local school guidelines for excused absences. Approved reasons to reschedule an exam include: extreme illness (hospitalization or medical care, a doctor's note will be required), bereavement, court appearance, a school sponsored trip or activity, or conflict with another AP® exam. Students are NOT eligible for Late Testing for reasons such as: family trips, conflict with an in-class exam or activity, having selected the incorrect AP® exam subject when you submitted your order. Students who are ill or facing an emergency on exam day should contact [email protected] ON exam day to request to have their exam rescheduled. Rescheduling requests must be submitted by CCHS to College Board within 24-hrs of the original exam date so it is crucial to make immediate contact.
